Congressman John Sarbanes (D-Md.) released the following public service announcement to share important information about the 2020 Census, which begins on April 1.
“Every 10 years, the U.S. Census Bureau counts everyone living in the United States.
This critical tally helps us allocate programs and services – including community health clinics, schools, affordable housing, roads and other vital services – that help Maryland communities thrive.
The census is important. It's easy. It's safe.
And it ensures that you are able to say, “I’m here. I count. My voice matters.”
Beginning in April, you will receive an invitation from the U.S. Census Bureau to complete a simple questionnaire online, by phone or by email.
Federal law requires your responses to be kept safe, confidential and secure.
The census only occurs once every ten years. So don’t miss out on your chance to make a difference and to make it count!
