Sarbanes, Maryland Congressional Delegation Ask President Trump to Fast-Track Approval of Statewide Disaster Declaration Amid Coronavirus Pandemic

Congressman John Sarbanes (D-Md.) today joined the Maryland Congressional Delegation in urging President Donald Trump to swiftly approve Maryland’s request for a statewide Major Disaster Declaration as a result of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.

Approving Maryland’s request would make the state eligible for emergency funding through FEMA under the Stafford Act.

The Maryland Congressional Delegation has been working closely with state officials to continue delivering federal support for Marylanders during this public health crisis.
